MicroSoft has released four new security patches.  They're designed to fix eight vulnerabilities in Windows and Office.  The vulnerabilities could allow hackers to take control of a person's computer.

 

The British ministry of Defense may re-evaluate security after a worker lost a USB flash drive containing unencrypted information on troop movements.  The drive was found on a nightclub floor, and was turned over to a reporter.

 

Scientists in Europe have started up a new proton beam collider, in an effort to learn about dark matter.  Some scientists predicted the collider would spark black holes that could destroy the planet.  It appears the planet will live on, and the world may learn more about a substance that may make up most of the universe.
