Birmingham, Ala. - He was well-known as an exotic dancer.  And now, it has been more than 12 years since he was gunned down on Birmingham's streets.  It is time for his family to get some justice, and as Police Chief A.C. Roper tells us, it's time for someone to finally speak up.

From Chief Roper:

"Crime Stoppers is ready to offer protection to anyone who calls on this case.  That protection comes in the form of complete anonymity.

Plenty of people will remember Huelon Hardwick, Junior, who used to be an exotic dancer.  He went by the name "Juice," and on August 5, 1997, someone ended his life.

He had gone to visit a female friend along the 3600-block of South Street in Dolomite.  Mr. Hardwick and the friend got in his car when someone started shooting into the vehicle.  Before he could pull away, Mr. Hardwick was killed, and his friend was wounded.

We know that, for years, people have been talking amongst themsevles about what happened to the man known as "juice."  Anytime something like this happens, rumors spread like wildfire.  Now, it's time for you to tell us what you've heard, and let us look into it.

If your tip proves to be credible, and we make an arrest, Crime Stoppers offers you a cash reward.  And for your safety, you never have to give your name, even if you get the reward.  Just call Crime Stoppers now at (205) 254-7777.  And let us do our jobs by closing this case and finally getting justice for Huelon Hardwick.

With Crime Stoppers, I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper."
