Some people with newer 3G iPhones are having trouble with their service. Apple put out a patch to correct problems with poor 3G reception, but in some cases, that's making matters worse. Some people even say their third party applications are no longer working.
American Airlines is the first U.S. air carrier to launch in-flight wifi service. It will only be on longer-haul 767 flights, and will cost $12.95 per flight. Other carriers are testing the service, and plan to launch it later this year. Delta will offer it on shorter flights for $9.95, and longer flights for $12.95.
Police radios are killing trees in the Dallas area. The city of Plano has a high tech radio-controlled spirnkler system in public areas like parks and road medians. It stopped working properly a few months ago, causing vegetation to start turning brown and dying. City leaders have just figure dout that the problem is a high-power police radio system some 30 miles away. The police radios are on the same frequency as the sprinklers, causing the trouble. No word yet on a solution to the problem.
