Birmingham - The Birmingham City Council has agreed to release $20 million to the BJCC over the next 2 and half years. It clears the way for work on the long talked about domed stadium expansion of the convention complex.
The BJCC board will get monthly increments of about $666,000 a month to spend largely on architects and land acquisition.
The city will create a 7 member oversight committee to monitor the board and the project.
