Jefferson County - Jefferson County sheriff's deputies arrested a man for an armed robbery at a BP convenience store, after he was tracked down in part due to a trail of money.
The robbery happened at the BP in the 7600 block of Highway 78 near Sumiton about 9:00pm. A man came into the store armed with a knife. Witnesses were able to give deputies a description of a silver car with part of its license plate number.
Investigators say the suspect's desctiption matched that of one involved in a similar robbery from March.
Deputies were able to find several locations the suspect may be and began searching, with the help of Sumiton Police. Those officers found the suspect car in the 100 block of 2nd Street South.
When the county invesitgators arrived, they noticed a trail of money leading from the car to the home's door.
After knocking, deputies forced their way into a side door and found 30-year-old Justin Shwayne Bice inside with an elderly woman.
Bice was arrested after a brief struggle and deputies found the rest of the money from the robbery in the same room.
He was taken to jail and faces a 1st degree robbery charge. He is being held on a $60,000 bond. The Sheriff's Department says other charges may be coming.
