Birmingham, Ala. - Plenty of people knew him. Plenty of people would stop by his house. And last year, one of those people killed Jeffrey Clark. The question is who?
Now, Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper highlights this homicide from Crestwood in hopes of finding the killer.
From Chief Roper:
"We understand if you have a tip regarding a homicide, you're probably nervous about speaking up. So I'll remind you, Crime Stoppers has never compromised the identity of a caller, and Crime Stoppers cannot call you to court to testify.
Someone in your community knows who killed 46-year-old Jeffrey Clark last year. What we need from the community is for someone to tell us what they've heard. Help us gather the final pieces of evidence we need to put Mr. Clark's killer away.
Mr. Clark lived along the 4700-block of 7th Court South, just off Crestwood Boulevard, and that's where he was found dead. Detectives went to his home and found Mr. Clark lying face-down in a pool of blood. He appeared to have been killed by blunt force trauma to the head.
We know he had previously had an abusive relationship with a partner. And neighbors say several cars would pull up outside Mr. Clark's home day and night. We wonder if any of those people could help us narrow our search and get the evidence we need to prosecute Mr. Clark's killer.
No matter what you've heard, we want you to call us at (205) 254-7777. We'll check the information, and if leads to an arrest, you get a cash reward. Even better, we'll finally have justice for Jeffrey Clark.
With Crime Stoppers, I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper."
