Central Alabama - In addition to the hundreds of amateur fireworks shows in Central Alabama, there will be plenty of chances to see spectacular professional shows.

Tuscaloosa County's annual July Jubilee starts at 6:00pm with children's games such as water balloon tosses, ice cream eating contests and face painting.  The live music begins at 7:00pm.  The big fireworks show lights up the sky at 9:00pm, complete with a choreographed soundtrack.  The July Jubilee is in Sokol Park, 5001 Watermelon Road in Northport.

Montevallo's American Village hosts Independence Day 1776 starting at 11:30am.  For $5.00 a person you can hear live patriotic music, get barbecue and interact with costumed historical interpreters.  There will also be sword-swallowing and other 18th century entertainment and Revolutionary War artillery demonstrations.  The night wraps up with fireworks when it gets dark.  American Village is at 3727 Highway 119 in Montevallo.

Gadsden holds its Freedom Saturday celebration starting at 2:00pm in the city's downtown.  The event includes a Patriotic Pooch Parade, Classic Cars show, and live music from 2:00pm until 9:00pm.  The day wraps up with a fireworks display over the Coosa River at 9:00pm.  The celebration is centered on Broad Street in downtown Gadsden.

The City of Helena is hosting an Independence Day event in Amphitheater Park.  The fun starts at 1:00pm with family activities such as volleyball, horseshoes, Moonpie tosses, Flag Tag Relay, and lots of live music.  There will be food and drink available as well.  Fireworks start at 9:00pm. 

The Morgan Creek Vineyards in Harpersville is hosting a 4th of July celebration as well.  There will be live music, complimentary wine tours and tastings and great spots for picnics.  The event starts at 6:00pm and ends at 9:00 with fireworks.  Morgan Creek Winery is at 181 Morgan Creek Lane in Harpersville. 

Finally Birmingham's Five Points South is hosting a block party.  Hundreds of people will gatherer there for live entertainment, food and drinks.  Highland Avenue between Richard Arrington Avenue and 20th Street will be blocked off for the party.  Music starts at 5:00pm and various bands will play until 9:00pm.  Visitors can also sample beers from several breweries including Five Points' Good People Brewing Company.  Fireworks start at 9:00pm.
