Motorcycle Sales Up to Beat Gas Prices

At least 4 fatal motorcycle crashes in less than a week, have some people raising concerns as more motorists opt for motorcycles. Motorcycle dealer, Bessemer- based ,Custom Performance says while sales for power sport vehicles like ATVs and watercrafts are down, motorcycle sales , as well as parts for them, are up---as much as 20%.
Custom Performance attributes the sales to great gas mileage---anywhere from 40 to 80 miles per gallon. Aaron Sellers, general manager at Custom, says he encourages clients to participate in drivers safety classes. He believes the classes will become more important as more motorcyclists hit the road.

I've been riding my whole adult life and have seen, as many of you have the irresponsible driving and riding habits of others. I'm going to get on my soap-box here and probably make a few of my fellow bikers mad, but so be it. SLOW those F@&%ing crotch rockets down !!! I don't ride one, but I can see where they would really be fun. I don't falt anyone for riding them, but zipping in and out of traffic at upwards of 100 MPH is ridiculous and gives the rest of us bikers a bad name and reputation among the 4-wheelers. All it takes is one of these type fly-bys and the car drivers start blaming all the bike accidents on those crazy motorcycle riders. Lets enjoy the open road & the good gas mileage safely and don't give Uncle Sam any reasons to limit our freedom as riders. JM2CW!
