Not long after the sun came up, workers were at Homewood park, beginning the process of dismantling the skateboarding area. They expect it to take them most of the day. City leaders reportedly want the job finished as soon as possible.
The decision to tear down the ramps and other fixtures that are so popular with skateboarders came at a Park and Recreation meeting on Tuesday. Officials cited concern over crime as reason for the move.
