An Etowah County man has died after he was shot in the neck with an arrow from a crossbow.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 20-year-old John Lawrence Kernochan was shot outside his home about 11:25 a.m. Friday.
The sheriff says Kernochan was with his roommate, 26-year-old Jeremy Lelon Brothers, who shot the arrow at a target, but apparently missed, hitting Kernochan. No charges were immediately filed.
However, the sheriff says, Brothers was arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Attalla and Rainbow City for public intoxication and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
