A tragic story takes an even more horrific turn.
On Wednesday two men were charged with First Degree Murder for the death of 15-year old Jeffery Stone.
District Attorney Jimmie Harp says one of the men confessed to killing the child "for the thrill." The motive? To feel what it's like to take a human life.
19 year oldNathanielWayneLee and 22-year oldTroyAndrewSmiley are in jail with no bond.
The death happened on March 24th - the day Stone's parents thought he'd run away from home.
He was shot to death in the Lee's home, which is across the street from the Stone family's residence.
On Wednesday his family mourned near a shallow grave in the woods near the St. Clair County line. For months Stone's body was hidden there.
Then about two weeks ago his killers returned to the site and moved his body into the house across the street from Blake's home. It was wrapped in a tarp and hidden in a freezer.
Stone's stepmother, Lynn, says she always had a bad feeling about Blake's older acquaintances.
19-year old Nathan Wayne Lee lived alone in the home. He inherited the property from his father and according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin he would have been "set for life" living on the property with no job. He lives alone. Neighbors say his mother lives in Walker County.
Mildred Alredge lives next door to Lee. She says he offered to help look for Stone when a search party combed the area. Little did she know, he would later he charged with his death. She said only "God and Nathan" will know why this happened.
Lee and 22-year old Troy Andrew Smiley played pool and watched movies with the 15-year old.
Blake thought they were his friends, but the District Attorney Jimmie Harp says it was fake. All long the pair plotted to kill the child just to feel what it's like to take a human life.
Blake's family calls that motive pure evil.
His uncle, Aaron Pace says his killers "hurt a lot of people. A lot of people loved this kid, and I don't think anybody is going to live the same way that they did without him."
Brandi Parks, Stone's aunt, says "These people that did this to him, they need to rot in Hell. I hope they get the worst that they can possible imagine."
If convicted the two men face life in prison.
