The people who handle the big money call it a "bear market." Larry Harper of Samford's Brock School of Business says a bear market happens when market prices fall 20% off their recent highs, but what does it mean for you at home?
"If they have investments such as their pension plans, their IRA's, those reports that will now get at the end of the second quarter will show lower values."
Harper says the bear market is an indicator of a recession later in the year. He also tells us, this may be an opportunity to buy cheaper real estate or invest in the stock market.. if you have the cash on hand. If not- do not go borrow money to do that right now.
