A three month search for a missing teen ends in tragedy with a gruesome discovery.
The remains believed to be of 15-year old Jeffery Blake Stone were found in a freezer.
That disvoery was made in an Attalla home across the street from where the boy lived with his father and stepmother.
Hours earlier, investigators found a shallow grave about twelve miles away near the St. Clair County line.
According to District Attorney Jimmie Harp "There were traces of the body there. Not a whole lot of evidence that would constitute the remains of a body. Just hair blood fibers... Information that led us to believe that the information we were getting from our source was accurate and correct."
That information was enough to issue a search warrant.
Harp says "Once we realized that there was something unusual in that freezer we backed off. Forensics are up there now. And there may be more to what was found inside that location than we know now."
Two people are in custody. Charges are expected to come on Wednesday.
Stone had been missing since March 24, 2008. He was last seen at his family's home.
