Birmingham - Some Jefferson County seniors are getting some help buying health foods.
The county Office of Senior Citizen Services is facing major funding cuts, but today it gave $30 worth of coupons to seniors over the age of 60. The coupons are good for produce sponsored by the Senior Farmers Market.
"They are real important as for health-wise, money-wise, especially now with the way things are with cost involved," coordinator Lorenzia Johnson explained.
