Blount County, AL -
Blount County Narcotics Detectives discover a marijuana and meth lab in the Royal Community near Blountsville. 156 marijuana plants valued at about $400,000 were seized and the man who lived on the property will likely face drug trafficking charges. Police are not releasing his identity until he is officially charged. But they say his illegal operation may have gone undetected if not for a routine traffic stop by Arab Police on Tuesday night. The man was taken into custody for drug possession. During questioning, Arab police gathered information they shared with Blount County.
Investigators executed a search warrant late Tuesday on Timmerman Road in Blount County. They worked through the day Wednesday cleaning up what was found. Sheriff Loyd Arrington says, "The message to the drug dealers is just be patient. We will get around to you eventually. The message to the community we are going to do our dead level best to rid the area of drug dealers. It's a never ending process."
