Jefferson County homicide investigators are on the scene of an apparent homicide in Center Point.

Randy Christian with the Sheriff's office says around 11:30am someone at the apartments located in the 1800 block of Amberwood Drive, Center Point reported that someone was laying outside in the grass outside the building.

Deputies responded to find a man believed to be in his 20's dead. The cause of death is unknown but the victim appeared to have trauma to the head and appeared to have been there several hours.

The victim has not been identified and there are no suspects at this time.

Christian says they are investigating this as a homicide and anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriffs Office at 325-1450.

This has become such a common occurrence in Center Hood that it doesn't really merit being newsworthy anymore as far as I'm concerned.

Langford's lucky that Cennahpurnt is not technically a part of Birmingham.  I know he's happy because these murders don't go against his city's crime stats.
