The mothers of the missing teenage girl and infant boy who disappeared from Birmingham's Collegeville neighborhood Thursday night are pleading for the public's assistance in helping them locate their loved ones and return them to their families.
"Please help me! All I need is the public to help me," said LaKendra Miller, the mother of 1-year-old Treshoun Williams, at a family-organized news conference in Fairfield Saturday afternoon. "I know everybody out there is praying for me for my baby to come home."
Coincidentally, the families held their news conference on the 17th birthday of Antoinetta Smith, the teenager who police say abducted Williams from his family's home, in his family's car, nearly 48 hours earlier.
"Is this how you want to spend your birthday?" cried Nakia Smith, Antoinetta's mother. "We is waiting on you! You need to come home with that baby!"
Saturday afternoon, both families drove around North Birmingham, hanging and distributing missing persons fliers to the community with the hope that someone might recognize the duo and contact police.
Treshoun Williams is described as about 2-ft. tall and 40 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing gray and orange Nikes and responds to "Tray" and/or "Tray-shon." Antoinetta Smith is described as 5-ft. 7 inches tall and 165 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Her family says she may be telling people that Williams is her own baby.
