It happened at Dominos in Saks along Highway 431. An employee – let go a few days before – stormed toward the building. Once inside witnesses say David Lee Thomas demanded his job back, threatening to kill everyone at work if he didn't get it.
The situation heated up when police searched the back seat of his car. That search allegedly revealed he had a dangerous an SKS rifle loaded with two rounds. Perhaps he intended to use it. Perhaps it was an empty threat. Police say he was intoxicated.
Chief Deputy Matthew Wade says, "People tend to turn to drugs and alcohol. Some people say it helps me escape but really all it does is multiple their problems."
Whatever the intention, Thomas faces s a felony charge of M Making a Terroristic threat. Images of 911 come to mind for many people, but it's a broad charge.
Wade explains, "If somebody gets mad and says I'm going to come and blow this place up. That's a terroristic threat. I'm going to come back and kill everybody. That's a terroristic threat."
Thomas is now in the Calhoun County Jail on $8500 bond.
Wade adds, "You know you lose your job and you have no money, there's no way for you to bond out."
Of course he has the opportunity to bond out but with no job it can be difficult to secure the funds. If he doesn't he'll stay behind bars until his court date on August 21.
