A brawl between parents at a softball game will cost every Youth League sports fan money this summer.  The fight happened in Talladega on Tuesday.  Now city leaders plan to keep the peace by raising parking costs by one dollar during all sporting events.

The fight that benched every youth league athletes, and they weren't even involved. In fact, none of the players had anything to do with last Tuesday's softball game brawl at the Spring Street Community Center.

Isaiah Graham, a basketball player, says "Some parents got mad because the umpire called the game wrong or something. Some parents started fussing and the coach started fussing and it just got outrageous out there"

Two women argued about a call Mayor Brian York tried to intervene but a third parent scratched him. Things got worse and police responded. That marked the end of all games at the complex. After the fight, all games were canceled in an attempt to diffuse a tense situation.

Brian Hutton, Assistant Director of Talladega Parks & Recreation, says that Monday night the complex reopens with security.

In fact Talladega City Council has implemented a zero tolerance policy to prevent future fights.

Council passed a price hike that will increase parking fees by one dollar during all sporting events. That money would pay a security guard to watch over every game, every night.

City Councilman Donnie Miller feels that a guard will help "everybody will feel safe and secure that if they come out there, there's nothing that's going to happen."

All games canceled because of the fight will be rescheduled later this season.
