Two women argued about a call Mayor Brian York tried to intervene but a third parent scratched him. Things got worse and police responded. That marked the end of all games at the complex. After the fight, all games were canceled in an attempt to diffuse a tense situation.
Brian Hutton, Assistant Director of Talladega Parks & Recreation, says that Monday night the complex reopens with security.
In fact Talladega City Council has implemented a zero tolerance policy to prevent future fights.
Council passed a price hike that will increase parking fees by one dollar during all sporting events. That money would pay a security guard to watch over every game, every night.
