They got voted out of Dancing With The Stars, but to many here in Alabama Marlee Matlin and Fabian Sanchez are still winners.

Sanchez returned to Hoover last week. Monday night, Matlin joined him in the heart of Alabama. Waiting for her arrival at the Comedy Club Stardome were more than 400 adoring fans, some of which came from the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind.

The students say Matlin is an inspiration. Matlin was excited to meet them.

"Well, it's a great honor when people look up to me. I am excited about meeting the children tonight. That is so great."

Hoover Mayor Tony Petelos presented Matlin with the key to the City.  Matlin also sat down with ABC3340's Brenda Ladun after shooting a promotional spot for AIDB.

Marlee and Fabian's dancing days together are not over. You can catch them together again on DWTS finale on ABC3340.
