Their children grew up to become some of the biggest stars in sports and entertainment.

Now the mothers of Will Smith, Cadillac Williams, Rapper Mos Def and others have formed a team of their own. It's called the mom squad.

These famous mothers reach out to children right here in Central Alabama.

Their limos roll in and the young fans go wild.

Carolyn Smith, mother of Oscar nominee Will Smith, says "He realized his dream early"

Before Smith starred in Hollywood blockbusters, Carolyn taught him to be a star at school.

She tells children, "You've got to be a good student. I don't mean an excellent study, I mean you've got to apply yourself."

The mom squad travels the county teaching children the same life lessons that molded some of the biggest names in the NBA and the NFL.

JacQuetta Clayton's son Mark plays for the Baltimore Ravens.

She says "What brings us together is we're mothers from the entertainment industry willing to give and serve in the community."

Sherry raised Cadillac Williams, an Etowah High School grad who's now playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Williams is the Mom Squad member responsibile for bringing the group to Alabama.

Williams says, "I asked the moms to come out, they agreed to come out and thank god they did."

Arabia Taylor was starstuck when the moms visited her Striplin Elementary School in Gadsden.

Taylor says, "My head was crazy. I was happy."

She also took in a lot of motherly advice from the Mom Squad.

Taylor says the moms told her "If you just do right and study hard they you can be whatever you want to be."
