Anniston Police warn residents to lock their doors and windows to protect themselves from a sexual predator. According to police one man could be responsible for as many as five rapes and robberies. At least three of them happened in East Anniston. Usually police withhold details of an investigation, but as a matter of public safety Anniston Police released information about their case. Their suspect appears to be targeting white women. He does not appear to know his victims. The victims do not know each other. However the attacker probably watches the women from a distance to learn their schedule before making his attack. Anyone who notices unusual activity - especially in alleyways between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m - is encouraged to contact Anniston Police at (256)238-1800. A fifty thousand dollar reward is offered for information leading to the capture of the attacker involved in one of the rape cases. Anniston Police have been distributing flyers warning reminding residents to take caution in securing their homes.
