The priced four prescriptions at more than 160 pharmacies nationwide. The price of a three month supply of the incontinence drug, Detrol ranged from $365 to over $500. The clot preventing drug, Plavix showed nearly the same range in cost, while generic Osteporosis drug, Fosamax varied by more-than $180. Consumer Reports shows Costco and AARP.com had the cheapest pills, while Walgreens and Rite-Aid were among the MOST expensive. ***************** Just looking at food may make it look tastier.. A new study in the journal, Cell Press suggests that the hormone found in the stomach called Ghrelin... may increase the enjoyment of food. Researchers found... the brain areas associated with the pleasure of eating lit up more in people injected with the hormone when they saw pictures of food. Researchers think the "hunger hormone" also affects vision, appetite, and memory. ************** Indoor tanning is totally out. That's the new public service campaign from the American Academy of Dermatology highlighting indoor tanning dangers. The message targets females, from teenagers to women in their 20s. Dermatologists say indoor tanning before the age of 35 has been associated with a significant increase in the risk of Melanoma. They say, Melanoma is increasing faster in females ages 15-29 than males in the same age group.
