What does a heart attack look like? New findings presented today at the American Heart Association's annual Scientific Forum in Baltimore suggests that many younger women believe it's the typical Hollywood heart attack you see in the movies. Researchers say.. therefore many women under age 55 often fail to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack until it's too late. Eighty-eight percent of women in a recent study reported traditional symptoms of severe chest-pain. Yet only 42 percent suspected something was wrong with their heart. 16,000 young women with heart disease die every year and 40,000 are hospitalized. Heart disease is the leading killer of American women, claiming almost half a million lives a year, or about one death per minute. ******************** Measles are worse now than they've been in six years. Federal health officials said measles outbreaks in several states have led to more than 70 cases so far this year. The Centers for Disease Control has confirmed reports of measles in nine states. No one has died from measles but 14 people have been hospitalized. The CDC (web|news) says the cases of measle have been traced to outbreaks overseas and are mainly in children who were not vaccinated for religious or other reasons.
