Elderly Woman Dies After House Goes Up in Flames
Fire ripped through a mobile home along Eastern Valley Road, near the Tuscaloosa-Bibb County line around 3pm Friday. A woman in her 80's was trapped inside. Green Pond firefighters say they arrived at the scene in under 4 minutes. Two firefighters were able to pull the woman out of the home. She was air-lifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham and admitted to the trauma center. She died at the hospital Friday evening.
