Hamilton, AL - The National Weather Service
(web | news) spent the day canvassing the state looking at damage left behind from Thursday's storms. One of the hardest hit areas is in Marion County. Along County Road 35 in Hamilton, high winds uprooted several trees that fell on houses. Power crews worked throughout the day Friday along Highway 43 to restore downed power polls and lines. In Guin, windows were blown out of the Palace B-B-Q restaurant. No major injuries were reported. The National Weather Services does not believe a tornado touched down. Meteorologists will review their information collected in the field to make sure, but at this point it appears straight line winds caused the damage.
