Star power heads to the prom. Students at one school will never forget their prom, and one lucky teen will never forget his very special prom date. MTV crews showed up to put the event on television, and a famous country music star even showed up to be one lucky teen's date.

MTV's hit reality show 'Once Upon A Prom' came to Hillcrest High in Tuscaloosa County. The lucky guy is 18 year old star quarterback and member the school's state championship basketball team Whit Wright. His date was a blind date, until Saturday night. It's award winning country star Taylor Swift, who just won a CMT Music Award for Video of the Year with "Our Song." This date is also a special one for Swift, who was too busy making music to attend her own senior prom.

"It's definitely an amazing substitute for my prom. This is such an unbelievable surprise," says Swift.

Wright says, "I thought I was going to prom solo. Then this all comes up and I am going to prom with Taylor Swift. It's been the best senior year I can possibly imagine."

Now, Swift is able to be part of the prom, with a suitable theme: A Night In The Spotlight.

John Merrill, with Tuscaloosa County Schools, says, "I think it was easier to make that the theme because of her appearance and the energy, activity, and enthusiasm that has come because Hillcrest was selected for Once Upon A Prom."

Producers and the school want to make this date as real as possible. Students here at hillcrest are honored to have an A-list celebrity among them.

Sasha Nichols is one of them, who says, "It's the most fantastic thing that's happened to me this year. It's wonderful."

It's one prom these students won't forget, especially Whit Wright. This whole week has been anything but normal for students here. Crews with MTV were in house all week shooting the show. 'Once Upon A Prom' airs June 12th on MTV.
