A memo from the county finance department indicates 7 cities, including Graysville, have not paid their personnel board bill dating back as early as 2003.

Mayor Doug Brewer of Graysville says the county is mistaken. He has records that show the county cashed a check for more than $9,000 in 2005.

Hueytown is a different story. Mayor Delor Baumann says the city is disputing part of the bill, and had been advised by counsel to not pay any portion of it. The undisputed portion is $121,238.51. Mayor Baumann says he believes the city will work out it's differences with the county, but does not know when the city will pay.

Fairfield and Bessemer are also accused of not paying their bill.

Calls have not been returned.  The Jefferson County finance director was not available for comment.
