Crime Stoppers is working to help Birmingham Police solve a cold case homicide.
Nathaniel Houston was found dead in his Hilltop Terrace apartment in July of 2005. The apartments are located off Arkadelphia Road, near Birmingham Southern College.
Police say Houston was on the phone with a friend when he heard a knock on the door. He went to see who was outside. He was never heard from again.
A detective later found Houston dead in the front room of the apartment.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone who will provide a tip that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone who calls Crime Stoppers remains anonymous. Callers are given code numbers so they never have to reveal their true identity.
Detectives need to know if Houston had ever expressed that he was in trouble. They wonder if he had any enemies. Police want to know who may have wanted to harm Houston.
The governor's office is offering a separate reward for information that leads to the conviction of a suspect.
Information can be given to Crime Stoppers by calling 205-254-7777. Crime Stoppers is available to callers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Caller ID is never used, and calls are not traced. Police hope to make an arrest as soon as possible.
