Wilsonville -

The sound of sirens brought people in Shelby County outside Wednesday just after 9 a.m.. People in three towns witnessed a police chase involving a robbery suspect.

Police tried to stop and question 19 year old Brandon Roberson of Mt. Olive about a robbery on the 1200 block of Highway 280. But Roberson fled and lead police on a chase through Chelsea, Westover, and Harpersville.

Ronnie Revie, an auto shop owner, captured the last part of the chase on tape. The video shows police setting up barricades and strike strips in downtown Wilsonville to stop Roberson. But Roberson in a green jeep bypasses the street and is hit by a police are. Roberson continues down railroad tracks before his car stops.

"I was tipped off by the guy at the local gas station who called me and said, 'stay off the road. There's a high speed chase headed our way.' Immediately, we ran out in the road to see what was going on," said Revie.

Roberson is being held on a one million dollar bond for burglary and property theft.

This was the third police chase in the area in a week.
