(Sports Network) - The Atlantic Division champion and playoff-bound Boston Celtics will wrap up a short two-game road trip Saturday night against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.
Boston has won two in a row overall and opened the trek with Friday's hard- fought 80-77 victory at San Antonio. Kevin Garnett returned to the Boston lineup after a lengthy absence and played a little over 14 minutes, finishing with 10 points and four rebounds. Garnett hadn't played since February 19 due to a posterior muscle strain of his right knee.
Ray Allen, who was out of Boston's last game due to a hyperextended right elbow, had 19 points in the win over the Spurs. Rajon Rondo contributed 16 points and 12 assists for the Celtics, who went a mediocre 7-6 in Garnett's absence. Paul Pierce posted just nine points and 12 rebounds for Boston.
The Celtics are four games behind Cleveland for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and 24-12 away from Beantown this season.
Memphis, meanwhile, hasn't won at home since February 9 versus New Orleans and has dropped five straight as the host. It's 12-23 at home in 2008-09 and is riding a three-game overall losing streak.
In Friday's 96-84 setback to the Hornets in the Big Easy, Rudy Gay scored 23 points and both Marc Gasol and Hakim Warrick had 12 points for the Grizzlies, who have lost 15 of their last 17 outings.
Boston just recorded a 102-92 win over Memphis at TD Banknorth Garden on March 13 and has won four straight and 11 of the previous 15 matchups. The Celtics have also won two in a row in Memphis.
