A local pastor spent this Easter Sunday at Linn Park, spreading the word of God to Birmingham's homeless community. Birmingham's homeless population is quite large which is why Pastor Anthony Hamiltons says, "We come out here every weekend."
Close to thirty people attended Sunday's service.
Abraham Walker lives on the streets and says it's services like this, which change lives, "When I first started living on the street it was tough. Then I got into the ministry circle and it wasn't tough at all."
Hamilton also feeods his congregation, but realizes the odds are against him, "If we have to feed 100 by the grace of God to get that one, Amen. That's the one we're looking for. That's the one Christ wants."
This mission is all about hope. By instilling faith in these men and women, Hamilton hopes they won't give up, "They seem to have no hope. That's what we're here to do - is to let them know there is hope and there is love. There's love for them and that's what we try and show them."
Hamilton's group is only one of two churchs which visit the homeless at Linn Park weekly.
It's not a typical church service, but it does share the same message.
