Pell Cite fire and several other surrounding fire departments are on the scene now of a large fire burning at the old Avondale Mills buildings, located just off Highway 231 in Pell City.

Seems to be a very convenient (and cheap) way to eliminate this eye sore at the expense of our environment. It was a no brainer the place was going to catch fire without being wet once the steel cutting began. Someone deserves the "stupid" award for letting this happen unless it was intended to happen this way.
