Alabama's Department of Revenue says the state's new private school tax credits do not apply to students who are already in private schools, even though they are zoned for a failing public school.
The Alabama Department of Education just released a list of 78 failing schools under the Alabama Accountability Act. Of those, 29 are in Central Alabama- 11 within the Birmingham City Schools district.
