Teens Cancer Diagnosis & fighting back!

Check out Kaylee's podcast!   She is amazing.  Recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she forged on to continue to go after her dream of becoming a singer and actress.  Listen how she reacted to the frightening news that she had cancer and how she handled it.

Speaking of cancer.  It seems to me I'm hearing about more people being diagnosed these days. Some dear friends are having an intense battle with the disease.  I believe in miracles and I have talked to people who say they had cancer and  now they are cured.  They say their doctors are stumped by their success. Let's pray a cure is found soon for everyone battling!  I know researchers all over the world are racing to find the cure.  In fact I've been inside some research labs here in Birmingham.  I've seen the excitement in some of the researchers eyes.  One young lady in particular was bubbling with the information she'd learned about the inside of a cell.  But the fact is, a cure can take years to develop.  The scientific theory requires that scientist prove their success in the lab repeatedly.

But recently as I've entered the Twitter Revolution, I wonder if there is a way to share information on the web to help researchers come to conclusions faster.  We've reported stories on how certain game systems are used for some data analysis.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on how we could use these information sharing sights to look for a clue in the battle against cancer.

Having recently lost my mother to cancer( bone, kidney, and liver), I remembered one of my old customers telling me how he was cured of protate cancer with the use of these radioactive "seeds".These are tiny little slivers of metal that are irradiated and actually injected into a tumor(more than one can be used if needed) with nothing more than a large needle.(From my understanding of it). Then a question entered my head after briefly researching these"seeds" on the internet and finding out they are used ONLY for treatment of prostate cancer....WHY?!?!? Why can't these seeds be used to treat any other kind of soft tissue cancers? If anyone can answer this question, it would be much appreciated, especially since my "research" found no answer. It makes me wonder if the huge , global, multi-billion dollar a year drug companies(especially the ones that make and distribute chemo-therapy drugs) are hiding something from the public! It would'nt exactly be the first time a very large and powerful company withheld something from the American people. Something that could potentially save lives, thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of lives. Am I just being to paranoid? I don't know, but I'd like to find out for sure. That much I do know
