I so look forward to the lazy days of summer.  I love being able to spend more fun time with the children.  I don't have to be the homework police for at least a few months.  I hope my boys will have happy memories of summer vacation as I have.

     I remember the last few moments of school, closing the books, cleaning the desks.  Leaving the school bell, the chatter of friends and the smell of chalk, weathered books and paper sack lunches.  My favorite memories are of biking on country roads and just sitting outside listening to the crickets on those warm summer evenings.

     Waking up long before the sunrise and packing the car up meant we were headed to the beach.  We even included the clam rakes and crabbing nets.  Fresh corn on the cobb and homemade ice cream, watching the fireworks from a town several miles away on the 4th of July from our backyard. 

     Now I'm planning a summer for my own children... and happy to take suggestions for summer fun.  Please share your memories and your plans with us all.  It may just make all our summer's richer.
