But today during the hours of chemo I read a book filled with healing scriptures and I know I don’t have to have more severe side effects. I know the power of prayer can change that.
There are so many scriptures that lead us to be able to focus on God and not our afflictions.
One point in particular I love is the fact that when we pray and focus on others our own afflictions are diminished. Just before that I was moved to pray for the other in the chemo chairs. It was confirmed with that book. Guess what? I did feel better. Then a pleasant young lady poker her head around the partition between us. She said, You know who you look like? I playfully said who? She said, “You look like Brenda Ladun on tv.” I said, I am and we started chatting about treatment. She let me in on the fact that she had a small baby, both of her parents died then she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The verse came to mind that God doesn’t give you more than you can handle, although she seemed to have more than most people. But she agreed and said it showed her how strong she really was. She also had been asked to speak recently and felt it was her mission to help others.
What a blessing… after chemo, cancer and life’s struggles
