HEAVY HEART

It's hard to see dear friends go through a storm of life. The news of Rick and Sherri's two year old son's tragic accident hit like a ton of bricks. I prayed the minute I heard it, that it was not true. But another phone call confirmed it.

I have no doubt that their faith in the Lord will carry them through this time. Their attitude and faithfulness to the Lord is amazing. They are more determined to spread the word about their faith in God.

Continue to pray for their family and other families grieving losses right now. The Lord can give us incredible strength to go through life's tough times. Grief is hard. It physically hurt when my Dad died for a very long time. But the love and support from others really did help. But the Lord continued to lead me each day.

The Lord is leading Rick and Sherri. The encouragement from listeners to Bubba this morning was so heart warming. So many people have been touched by this tragedy. So many people have said this has made them reflect on changes that need to be made in their own lives after hearing the news. Even in this tragedy this incredible couple is concerned about changing people's lives and helping others find faith. Rick and Sherri our prayers and love are with you!

I am not a writer,but I must comment on the situations at hand.Mr.Burgess is a very strong man,and his faith in God will pull him through his peril.You,also are an inspiration to thousands of cancer patients around the world.Strength comes from faith,and inner belief,in my opinion.May both of you live life to the fullest.My wife,yes,I opened with MR.Rebecca Atchison,is,in my opinion,the most courageous person on earth.I could never be as strong as her.At 16 years old,a gun went off in her face,at point blank, and blinded her,but you would never have known it until recently.(she is,er,40 something now).I met her,and we talked for 2 hours,before a friend told me she was legally bling.That was many years ago,and sadly,now she has gone totally blind.Only sadly for everyone else,cause you can't tell it by the way she acts.I hope you,Mr.Burgess,and my dear Rebecca,all get what yo deserve in the hereafter.Because,you have all shown,this life is just a stopping point in eternity!

BRENDA, You are a constant source of inspiration I have a friend who I just found out has Breast Cancer. She will be under going surgery next week and is nervous about it . She is being very positive and upbeat about it, but I know that you know her true feelings at this time in her life. Please lift her up in prayer.

As I listened to the show the last 2 days I admire the spiritual out pour from Bubba, Speedy and so many others in the community with love and strength through God's word for Rick, Sherri and the entire Burgess family. I have always admired the Love that Rick and Bubba share with the listening audience for the Lord our God. Isn't it a great thing that can be shared on syndicated radio, and now with the untimely passing of Bronner aka Cornbread more people are coming to realize they need to have a relationship with the Lord. When Jesus asked Peter to come out and meet him on the water, for a moment Peter's eyes were not fixed on Jesus, Peter went under water, Jesus IMMEDIATELY picked up Peter, just like he did to Bronner in the pool, Jesus IMMEDIATELY brought that precious child into his loving arms. May Rick and Sherri and the Burgess family know how wonderful it will be when they meet again in the house of our God! Bronner is so blesssed!

TO THE BURGESS FAMILY.MY SON WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME A FEW MONTHS AGO.IT"S HARD TO REALIZE HE'S NOT WITH ME BUT I DO KNOW HE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE IN OUR HEARTS.I TALK TO HIM EVERYDAY. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

As I listend to the Rick & Bubba Show yesterday and today my heart was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. What an amazing testimony of God's love and strength. We all have and/or will have trials and storms to weather throughout our lives but I don't think anything prepares us for the loss of a child. How awesome is the love Rick & Sherri have for our Lord and Savior...how awesome is our God.

I know Rick and Sherri and the entire Burgess family is being covered in a blanket of God's love and peace...a peace that passeth all understanding. May God be glorified and satan be defeated!!!

In a tragedy as of this sometimes its hard to keep faith, but with Gods amazing grace we always seen to find it..My prayers are with the family and for the days to come... May God bless and comfort each of you....

Brenda ~ I really enjoyed seeing you and Doug and family on Sunday at a local resturant. Of course our husbands talked sports, sports, and maybe about a few other things. Your guys were so handsome and grown up! Guess all kids do that, as you got to meet one of our daughters and our new little grandaughter, Hope. After your guys left, my husband Gary and daughter Stacey and I all marveled how wonderful you looked in person and how great you have been through all your adversity. We wished we had said so, but then again you never know how to express what you are feeling sometimes. Of course we watch only abc 33/40 for all our news, weather, and sports! It is so refreshing to see you each night looking so pretty with such a beautiful smile! Thank you for showing others that with God all things are possible. I hope the next time we see each other, and who knows how long that will be, that we can talk to each other while our husbands go over the sports of the day! Kathy Rutledge

I lost a nine week old grandchild last July. It does not matter the length of time you have them, you still have an over whelming sense of loss. My family and I struggle everyday and the only way we get relief is to go to the Bible, study the scriptures and obey God's word. Our avenue of prayer is soley based on us doing His will and keeping Him first. Then and only then, does he hear us and gives us peace of mind and strength to function. It is simple, we do His will and he will protect and keep us in the palm of His hand.

Since I first heard of this tragic event my heart has been heavy for Rick, Sherri, and their entire family; as well as their close friends. Likewise, it's made me rethink and remember what's important in life...God and Family. No doubt, there are literally hundreds of thousands of people just like me, who've been touched by this tragic story, to live ever closer to God and to better cherish every single moment we have with those we love so dearly. I plan to keep the Burgess family and those like them better in my prayers from now on. Indeed, as the Bible says, we are to "comfort one another" as well as to "carry each others burdens." May we all be more caring and sensitive to one another as we become better Christians by growing in the Lord. God Bless Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know how much I have been blessed by your constant and strong presence on the News each and every evening and at night also. I also, have cancer and through the blessings of my LordI have a wonderful life. You are prayed for every time I talk to Jesus.

RICK & SHERI, I DO NOT KNOW YOU PERSONALLY. BUT, I FEEL AS I DO AFTER LISTENING TO RICK & BUBBA FOR QUITE A WHILE. MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU. I HAVE HAD ALL OF YOU ON MY MIND CONSTANTLY, AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU MUST BE GOING THROUGH. I KNOW FROM LISTENING YESTERDAY & TODAY BUBBA, SPEEDY & THE REST HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB ON HANDLING THE SITUATION THAT HAS HAD TO BE SO HARD ON ALL OF THEM.
