GETTING STRONGER!

I know i've been out of pocket for awhile. But a bad cold, treatments, the holidays and the children being out of school has kept me off-line. Here's the latest, I'm almost at the half mark for the radiation treatment. about a week and a half ago, a very bad cold made me feel like I had weights tied to my entire body. My doctor didn't want to take a chance so she ordered me to bed for a few days. She was right, I had been so determined to keep up with life I guess I had worn myself out. I needed a tough talk from the old doc was a good thing. It's hard to rest, but it was much needed... the next week I had vacation and had a wonderful time resting and visiting with family. With the help of Santa and the Elves, I was also ready for the big day... Christmas... and it was such a blessed day. My favorite thing was the time we spent watching a movie and yes, resting! What a gift time is with those you love. We had a feast at my sisters house that would put the Waldorf Astoria to shame. Life is good, I'm feeling stronger and I praise God for His grace and your prayers.

Since the cold and the cough have subsided, I've started walking and running again. Even though the chemo and radiation has left me on the fatigued side, I know I have a goal to run in the my !

Conquer Cancer Run January 26th. I'm walking and running and today I went a little farther. I don't want to let the treatments control me... I know with the Lord's help, all things are possible... even a five mile run even if I am doing a little radiation every day. I hope to see you too at the run and hope this is the best one ever!

Brenda, I just read several of your blogs and they made me cry tears of joy. You are a living example of staying strong in faith, using the scripture to draw strength from and trusting God. The word tells us that those that put their trust in Him will not be put to shame. Your blogs are encouragement to continue to trust God and stay in faith regardless of how things look or feel. Circumstances and feelings are subject to change! and just like you said with God ALL THINGS are possible. You are a blessing in the lives of others. Thank you for allowing your faith to be visible so God can use you to help many!

I am so inspired by your blogs. Its truley amazing what we can get through when we put our faith into God's hands. Keep fighting, im praying for you(and those who are aslo going through this disease) and i plan to atend the run. Hope to see you there.

Brenda - I really admire your faith and fight against this terrible disease. My wife and I watch you nightly and followed as you went through your first cancer fight. My wife lost her Dad to pancreatric cancer in June, so we know a little about what you are going through. Please know we will be praying for you and your family during this second round. Keep on keeping on. Remember Matthew 6:33. Best wishes.

Brenda you are such a inspiration to me. I pray for you each day to have a blessed day. The women at Union Hill Baptist Church in Oneonta, Alabama say hats off to Brenda with the Lord you can do anything. Remember if you have faith of a mustard seed you can move any mountain. I look forward to seeing you back on the air soon.

Thanks all... and Andi please tell your father I'm feeling so much better. Sorry the chemo may have gotten the best of me there for a few weeks... but the Lord kept me going. I'm hoping that the Lord will grant us all blessings and health in 2008. God bless you all!

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. God has truly blessed me. I told the boys tonight that we need to pray for all the wonderful people praying for us. Sandy you have a great point. You can make a donation to the American Cancer Society for the Brenda Ladun Conquer Cancer Run. Also thanks to ABC 33/40 my General Manager and News Director Garry Kelly for being so supportive to allow me to get the word out and help raise money to fight cancer! See you at the race!

My family has been praying for you and it worries my father when you "don't look like you feel good". We all admire how you are handling all of this. May God continue to keep you and your family strong. You are a role modle to many women, not just with cancer, but with other health problems. If you can do it, so can I. But only with the help of God, of course.

Hello Brenda it was great to hear from you, I am sorry about you bad cold, but I am glad that you listen to your doctor and got some rest and also glad your feeling better. My family just got back from Gatlinburg we went after Christmas and stayed thru New Years Day. We had a lilttle Church Service in our Hotel Room My dad which was my associat Pastor for Years did out devotional and we just reflected on God's Mercy, Grace and How He will never let us down and my mom 7 years out from her cancer we will continue to lift you up to the Lord. Hi Brenda, I have never e-mailed you before, but I felt that God was leading me to do so this time. You amaze me. I am so PROUD of YOU. The humble spirit that you have is beyond words. I am so pleased that you are making such progress with the treatments. I have watched you on T.V. for many years, and have always admired the person that you have been. The best is yet too come for you and your family, so hang in there, and keep the Faith. Brenda, you know this is just a TEST. Pretty lady, you are passing it. The grade is being recorded on the heart of our Heavenly Father, and It;s an "A".

Brenda, When you were going through your first battle with cancer I too was in the battle. My cancer was non-hogkins lymphomia. I am now six and a half years cancer free. You and your family are in my prayers. I will ask a special prayer from St. Pereguin patron saint for cancer victims and survivors to Our Lord God. Get well soon. It's great getting an update on you. I'm glad that you were able to get some much needed rest and are feeling better now. Christmas is a very special time and I am grateful that you got to visit with your family during this time.

I know of several people who plan to run and/or walk in the race on the 26th. However, I also know of some who just want to make a contribution to the cause. When you get a chance, please let us know who those folks should make their check out to.

As we approach this new year, know that you and your family are in our prayers. We serve a BIG God and He is in the miracle buisness. It's exciting to me to see all of the miracles that take place each year. As I end 2007, I am reflecting on those miracles and anxiously awaiting those that will take place in 2008.
