REYNOLDS, Ga. (AP) - Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall has paid the fines for possession of a small amount of marijuana and a window tint violation. Reynolds, Georgia, police chief Lonnie Holder said Thursday that Marshall's mother, Shalina Cliett, paid the $1,100 in fines. That means Marshall won't have to appear at a September court hearing.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks have reached deals with ESPN to carry the SEC Network. The companies and the Southeastern Conference announced the deal on Thursday. The network debuts on Aug. 14 and will be available to some 60 million households nationally.

ATLANTA (AP) - Jarrod Saltalamacchia drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning, Henderson Alvarez won for the first time in three starts and the Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 3-2 Thursday night. In taking three of four games, the Marlins won just their second series in the last 10 against the Braves at Turner Field.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - On the eve of training camp, the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms on a new contract with receiver Roddy White. The Falcons announced the four-year extension Thursday. White holds the team records for career receptions and yards receiving.
